Daddy's Christmas girls

Playing with the musical Christmas toys

Kezia & Bekah were fascinated by all Grandad's musical Christmas toys.

We all LOVE Kezia's new dress that she got from Gran & Opa

Joe & Caroline with the 'sisters' book

Sarah has spent the last couple of months working on a wonderful book all about memories of she, Joe & Caroline being sisters. She gave it to them as a Christmas present. It is brilliant.

Kezia is growing so fast, she is now taller than her Daddy!

Time to open some presents

We had a lovely Christmas Day round at the Peacocks. The kids really enjoyed playing together and they all loved their presents.

The evidence

We left a snack and a drink out for Father Christmas and his reindeer on Christmas Eve. When we came down on Christmas Day, we knew that they had been. Father Christmas had had his beer & mince pie and the reindeer had shared the carrot.

We were all very lucky

Doing the fairy sticker book on Christmas Eve

At 6.30 on Christmas Eve, Kezia jumped into bed, ready to settle down to sleep. Mummy pointed out that it wasn't quite bedtime, so they did the fairy sticker book for half an hour before sleep time. Kezia settled down without a peep, and slept in until 7.30 on Christmas morning!

The snow is back

At the end of November when the rest of the country was covered, Reading barely had a flake of snow. Not any more! This was the view that greeted us outside our front door on Saturday morning!

Under the weather

Kezia is not very well today. She was quite perky at breakfast time, but by 10 o'clock she wasn't very well and just wanted to curl up and have a snooze. She is dosed up on Calpol, so with any luck she will be as right as rain very soon.

Putting up the Christmas tree and the decorations

We had an ace time yesterday doing the tree and decorations. Kezia has chosen such a good tree - we are really pleased with it - it is the best tree we have had in years. Kezia is already beside herself with excitement about Christmas - we're only up to December 13th - goodness knows what she will be like on Christmas Eve.

Chopping a bit off the end of the trunk so that the tree can drink while it is in its stand

Coming through.....

Kezia knew exactly how she wanted things to be...

Kezia has laid out our nativity scene like a police identity parade. We like it!

The great Christmas tree adventure

Today we went to the local garden centre to buy our Christmas tree. Kezia is at an in-between stage at the moment where she doesn't want to go in the buggy very much, but she doesn't want to walk all the way either. Because of the distances we walk, we need to find an alternative solution - so today we gave it a go with her scooter. She did really well and scooted plenty of the way (we took the buggy as a back-up, it was also handy for putting the tree in while she was on the scooter). She was very particular about the tree we should get! Pics of the tree when it's decorated to follow.

We said that Kezia could choose one new bauble to put on the tree. She set her heart on practically the first one she saw - a red, heart-shaped one. Tris commented that she takes after her father in the shopping stakes - go for the first thing you see!

Trying on festive hats with Daddy.

Making a TV

For some reason, Kezia suddenly announced today that she wanted to make a TV "with glitter and glue". This is the result of her efforts. She used her coloured glitter sticks, they're like pritt sticks with glitter in them. She is really pleased with it - particularly the buttons on the top. Apparently, the one on the left turns the TV on and the one on the right turns it off.

New coat, silly hat

Kezia has a super cosy new coat for winter; warm AND waterproof! Mummy has a hat that falls over her eyes - not sure which mischief was responsible for that!

Fun with Katie at the Christmas Lights switch-on

On Saturday, we went up to Woodley to see the Christmas lights being switched-on. There was free gluhwein and mince pies, and we sang carols. We bumped into the Creeches, so the girls were pleased to get a chance to run around together.

You count, I'll hide!

Kezia's hiding skills need a bit of work!
