Picnic at James and Bekah's house

On Wednesday we had a picnic lunch with James, Bekah, Auntie Joe, Grandma and Grandad - it was lovely to sit in the sunshine with them all. Thanks for the lunch, Auntie Joe (and the picture which I have stolen from their blog!).

Uncle Ollie has been to visit

Uncle Ollie had a weekend off from his Royal Marines training this week and came to stay with us. It was lovely to see him.

Goggle-tastic!

There was one special purchase Ollie had to make while he was here, to help him with his swimming!

A trip to the park with Katie & Ollie

On Saturday morning, we looked after Katie while Mike & Di were working. The 5 of us went to the park to enjoy the lovely weather. Of course, the first thing we had to do was stop for a snack!

After our snack we all had great fun on the swings & slide, including Uncle Ollie!

While the girls were playing, Uncle Ollie made this terrific daisy chain!

The weather was really warm & sunny and we decided to stay outside when we got back from the park and set up the play-tent. The girls had great fun pretending to have a picnic.

We finished off the morning with a fun picnic in the garden. It was a really fun morning.

A Wonderful Weekend in Winchester

Quite a few weeks ago, Sarah spotted an ace deal for a weekend break at a posh hotel in Winchester. We went there last weekend (Kezia had a holiday at Grandma & Grandad's). It was great, the hotel was very posh, the weather was lovely and we had a great time just the two of us. This is at Wolvesey Castle.

Our new house (we wish!)

This house was lovely, though sadly it isn't ours - it is the Bishop of Winchester's gaff.

Wandering along the River Itchen

Once we had seen the cathedral and Wolvesey Castle, we strolled back along the River Itchen into the city centre.

The view from St. Giles's Hill

On Sunday morning the weather was beautiful and we strolled to the top of St. Giles's Hill for a view over the city. It was a wonderful weekend!

Hello Uncle Dan and Uncle Adrian.....

....I have discovered some CBeebies games on the computer and they are fun! Daddy isn't very good at them, so Mummy has to help me!

Yesterday, we went to Leo's 3rd birthday party in Wokingham. It was ace. Kezia had brilliant fun making a parrot out of a toilet-roll tube.....

...making a party crown.....

...and doing Play-doh

Playing Pass the Parcel

All the kids had great fun playing pass the parcel! For those who don't know, birthday boy Leo is on the left hand side, with bare feet, wearing the blue checked shirt.

After all the fun, Kezia had worked up an appetite!

And last but by no means least, we sang 'Happy Birthday' and got to share Leo's ace shark cake!

Thank you for inviting us - we had an ace time!

Having fun with James and Rebekah

This morning we looked after James and Bekah and we had lots of fun playing together. Here the three mucnhkins are having one of the several snacks they felt they needed during the morning!

What mischief are the older two plotting, I wonder?!

Smiley girl :-)

James really likes taking photos and asked if he could take one of Uncle Tris, Kezia and Bekah - not a bad effort with an unfamiliar camera

It's a shame we haven't got the sound with this one - they were giggling like mad!! And, no, I don't know why they're lying on the bathroom floor :-)

At the park

A flying visit to the Isle of Man

Last Wednesday I went to the Isle of Man for the first time in my life. I was just there for the day with work, and I was only there for about 8 hours in total, but it was interesting to see a new place. This photo is taken just across the road from the building I was working in, at Braddan, just outside Douglas.

Snow on the hills

The weather really was '4 seasons in one day'. I landed in a snowstorm in the morning, and some roads were closed, but by the afternoon the sun had come out and there was just some snow left on the hilltops. This is a view of South Barrule hill (I think!) on the way back to the airport.

The 'Three Legs of Man' triskelion sculpture at the airport

I even got to fly home on a plane named after a footballer!

I had thought that the flights would be really bumpy, but in fact they weren't at all, so I was quite relieved.

Good Friday

Yesterday we had a really nice family day with a meal at Grandma and Grandad's house. My cousin, Sam, and her husband and two boys came over as well. There were 15 of us, including all the kids, and we sat at two tables in the dining room for lunch - it was so much fun! Sam's boys are Harry, who's 8, and George, who's 4 - here they are with James. All the kids played really nicely together. Tris and Harry spent ages looking at all Harry's Football World Cup cards - I'm not sure who enjoyed it more!

Planting seeds with Grandad for this year's sunflower-growing competition - the kids love doing this

Bekah did get to plant some seeds too, we just didn't catch the moment on camera!

Kezia loves her umbrella and she's even starting to get the hang of holding it up above her head! (Instead of dragging it on the floor!)

I LOVE this photo - it's so cute how well they get on with each other

Kezia now has a proper big girl's bedroom - when she saw it her face lit up and she said "Mummy, it's pink!"

I painted the alphabet poster myself :-)
