Kezia's Year 2 Assembly this week. It was called "New Beginnings" and it was great!

Our recent trip to Verona.

We recently had a flying visit to Verona for the weekend. It was to celebrate Sarah's 40th birthday and to celebrate the fact that we have known each for 20 years (our last day in Verona was 20 years to the day since we met). Verona was more or less the first place we talked about going to together, way back in 1995, and we even decided at that point that we would go there "in 1998". We never got round to it (too busy going everywhere else I suppose), so it was wonderful to finally get there. Well worth the wait, and now we have been once, we want to go back......

The entrance to the main square.

Sarah next to the Arena (no opera on while we were there though).

On the Piazza Bra, where the Arena is.

When in Rome...... (er, I mean Verona...)

Juliet's balcony (complete with Japanese Romeo & Juliet).

One of our favourite spots was the Piazza dell Erbe - really pretty and with lots of nice cafes to stop at and watch the world go by.

Fun!

The Porta Nuova (now marooned on a roundabout), next to our hotel and on the way into town.

We really liked the Castelvecchio art museum - a lovely building and some nice art (plenty of pics of St. Bartholomew, if that's your thing!)

The river Adige.

Italian Selfie!

Looking down from the castle/museum walls to the Ponte Scaligero.

Sarah on the Ponte Scaligero.

The courtyard of the Castelvecchio. It was lovely there.

Verona Cathedral (now with added scaffolding!)

A last stroll across the Ponte Pietra and along the banks of the Adige.

It was a wonderful trip (well worth the wait!!)
