My Macmillan Charity Fundraising Walk - here, at long last, are the photos.

In the first week of April, I did a charity fundraising walk for Macmillan, along the Kennet & Avon Canal and the River Thames from Bath to Maidenhead. I had planned to walk 109 miles and raise 500 pounds - in the end I walked 130 and raised almost 1600 pounds - it was just a brilliant, wonderful week and I loved every single second of it.

Day 1 - Bath to Winsley - my first steps getting off the train at Oldfield Park station in Bath - no vehicles for a week - just my own two feet!

Bath v Maidenhead - Stuart & Jenny were there to see me off.

Properly on my way - the start of the Kennet & Avon Canal at Bath.

Dundas Aqueduct - from Somerset into Wiltshire.

Not bad for my first overnight stop - Burghope Manor at Winsley.

Day 2 - the first full day - Winsley to Devizes - this is at Bradford-on-Avon.

Perhaps this cyclist gave up.......

Boats aplenty at Hilperton Marina.

A good wholesome lunch at The Somerset Arms in Semington.

The amazing flight of locks at Caen Hill, just before I reached Devizes.

Day 3 - Devizes to Pewsey - pretty blossom near All Cannings.

I had the path to myself almost the whole way today.

It was ace

The disused suspension bridge at Stowell Park.

Pewsey was my stopover for the night - it is a lovely little place.

Day 4 - Pewsey to Hungerford - here I am at Wootton Rivers.

A great motto for the week.

I met up with Steve at Bedwyn and he was my walking buddy for the afternoon.

A well earned rest at The Pelican in Froxfield.

The view from my B & B in Hungerford at the end of the day - not bad!

Day 5 - Hungerford to Thatcham - Kezia and Sarah joined me at Kintbury (just after this photo was taken).

Well over halfway by now - going well!!

A pretty spot on the way into Newbury.

Kezia walked 9 miles - it was a brilliant effort.

Team Browning - recharging our batteries at The Swan in Thatcham at the end of the day.

Day 6 - Thatcham to Woodley - these were my path-side companions as I set off from Thatcham.

A beautiful morning, near Aldermaston.

Lunch at the Cunning Man - it had turned VERY hot by the time I got here!

A pretty weir in the sunshine - near Reading.

I reached the Thames - that is every centimetre of the Kennet & Avon Canal, done and dusted!

Day 7 - the last full day's walk from Woodley to Marlow - this is at Sonning Lock.

Caroline & Adrian - my walking buddies for the morning (at Shiplake).

A nice view of Hambleden Mill.

The deer park near Hurley.

My final overnight stop - in Marlow.

Day 8 - the last day! Marlow to Maidenhead with my friend Richard Longley. This was my last river crossing at Bourne End.

The very last bit of water - Maidenhead bridge.

The final mile! Kezia with Yorkie the Magpie on the last mile through Maidenhead.

Tired but over the moon - my final steps brought me here, to the bar at Maidenhead United - I did it!!

130 miles walked and nearly £1600 raised. I made it! What a brilliant, brilliant experience.
