A flying visit to Gibraltar (again)

I was in Gibraltar again with work this week, and I went down to my favourite spot, Europa Point, to look across at Morocco. No luck this time, sadly. It was very, very blustery, and Morocco, 14 miles across the strait (off the left hand side of this photo) was completely shrouded in mist. That is Spain behind me across the bay.

The underwhelming 100 ton gun

Seeing as I couldn't see Morocco, I thought I would visit the "100 ton gun", a relic from the Victorian defences of Gibraltar. It is signposted from all over town, but I had never been before. I don't know quite what I expected, but it is one of the most underwhelming tourist spots I have ever visited. Still, my trip overall was fun.

The terrapins in the town centre park were nice though....

I have been past this park every time I have been to Gibraltar and never noticed them before.

A kiss from cousin James....with scratched forehead visible!

Saying hello to the ducks

.....it was just after this that she tumbled headlong on the path and scratched her forehead, nose and lip - poor little mite - she is all better now though.

Look out - it's the Loch Ness Monster!

They have added this monster to the park down at Christchurch Meadow. It is very high and teetery for a 2 year old!

They have made the park down by the Thames in Reading even better recently - Kezia was particularly taken with these binoculars.

Not much blog lately....

Not much blog lately - sorry! We have been doing a lot of our computer stuff on our laptop, but our photos are all stored on our clunky old desktop PC, so we never seem to have the right computer turned on for blogging.

Kezzie and the cow chair.....

The 3 kids' chairs outside the hardware shop in Woodley are a constant source of conversation - Kezia has the cat chair at home, Katie has the frog chair, and we don't know anyone who has the cow chair - we go through this every time!

Getting creative with paint, hands, stones and feathers

Kezia had a lovely time playing with Leo & Ava last weekend

World Cup Final!

Mixed emotions after the World Cup Final last night. Johnny thrilled with Spain's victory, Tristan less happy with Holland's anti-football whinging clogger tactics!

Chalks!

In the middle of last week, Kezia & Mummy decided to get creative with the chalks out on the front drive. They started by getting all set up for hopscotch.

After the hopscotch grid, Kezia started on the garage door! The weather has been so dry that all the chalk is still there, a good 10 days later....

Shelling peas with Grandma - a 2-year-old's work is never done!
